Lewis Barfoot is a London-Irish singer, songwriter, and contemporary folk artist based in Cork. She returns to The Kitchen Garden for the second time as part of her Spring UK tour. Rooted in folk traditions yet guided by a distinctly personal voice, her songs are shaped by fingerpicked guitar, “vocals that melt the hearts of angels” (KLOF), and beautifully profound — often playful — lyricism that draws audiences in with its authenticity. She has released two acclaimed albums, Glenaphuca (2021) and HOME (2023), and is currently developing a new album of traditional songs, The Old Bog Road.
"The delightful sound of a musician who is both an accomplished composer of original material and also a torchbearer keeping alive traditional styles and song" (KLOF).
“An arrestingly good vocalist and songwriter” (John O’Regan, Living Tradition).
“A balm for the soul” (Lillian Smith, RTÉ Radio 1).
