Tango Afternoons with Live Music for Dancing from Mark Wyman (piano) and Ruth Rozelaar (bandoneon)

Enjoy dancing to 75 minutes of live music, sandwiched by traditionally DJ'd Tandas*.
If you're not a dancer but would like to come and listen/watch? We have some seated listening space upstairs in the balcony for you (at a special price!).

The live music will be from 2.30 – 3.45pm, and there will be traditionally DJ'd tango music for the rest of the afternoon fro DJ Alan.

New for 2026: come early at 12.30 for an Absolute Beginners Taster Class upstairs in the dance studio, and it's Absolutely FREE (if you have a ticket for the afternoon).

“For our first Milonga in 2026 at Ashburton Arts Centre, we have the return of a great tango pianist! Mark Wyman from Holland will be known to those of you who used to come to Tango Mangos. He is an excellent Tango pianist and the collator of the Big Tango Fake Book, which is the go-to reference book for playing Tango A la Parrilla. Once again, we will get rid of the stage and push the piano into the middle of the dance floor, for you all to dance around us. Our focus is on bringing you a rich tango programme; 75 minutes of traditional, danceable live music.”
