Event Information

Maddie Storvold: A strong new voice in Londontown. Canadian-import Maddie Storvold has been travelling and playing music all over the world, and is now an enthusiastic member of the local music scene. Her background as a spoken word poet, and a degree in Literature and Philosophy, account for a poignant lyricism. With emotive finger picking, and a honeyed, impassioned voice, her music seeks to tell a story, and to touch a fragile part of the human spirit. Having spent the first summer of her career on tour with Vancouver-artist C.R. Avery, as well as playing stages as large as the Edmonton Folk Festival, this young artist is quickly making a name for herself.

Toria Wooff: Finding splendour in shadows, TORIA WOOFF sings tales of the beautifully strange. Announcing the release of her beguiling self-titled debut album, her gothic approach to the folk tradition has captured the attention of any who have caught her live over the last couple of years and as the record takes listeners deeper into her bittersweet world, it’s only a matter of time before countless others will fall under her spell. Toria heads out on a headline tour this Spring to play the album in full to audiences across the UK.

Sarah Jane Scouten: Now living in rural Scotland, Canadian folk and Americana songwriter Sarah Jane Scouten pays respects to 60s and 70s country songwriters Willie Nelson, John Prine, Bobby Gentry. She weaves in British folk revival elements with a continuous thread leading back to her roots in bluegrass and old time music. After a transformative four years, training as a herbalist in southwest Scotland, Sarah Jane released her fifth album Turned to Gold. Sarah Jane offers a new depth and solidity as a songwriter. This is destined to be your next favourite road trip album.
