Backbeat Band return to the Butler for their Summer Soulstice 2026.
Backbeat’s mission is to have fun and play music for DANCING! Backbeat are a BIG band -featuring a three piece brass section, and four vocalists, they play their favourite Soul, R & B and Jump Jive tunes by artists including Jackie Wilson, Ruth Brown, Wilson Pickett, Louis Jordan, Ann Peebles, Fontella Bass, Edwin Starr, Stevie Wonder, Irma Thomas, Martha Reeves, Aretha Franklin and many more.

Featuring Alison Rolls and Colin Armstrong - lead vocals; Dave Gray - guitar & lead vocals; Di Whittaker - backing & lead vocals; Pete Thompson – bass; John Wright – keyboards; Craig Broadfoot - keyboards; Simon Price - drums; Sean Horsey –tenor sax; Dick Hanson - trumpet (ex-Graham Parker & the Rumour); Steve King - baritone sax and special guest on harmonica - Neil Packman.
