When Cuban Music & Latin Jazz meets in SE, London.
Sergio Marciano was born in Santiago de Cuba in August 1965; in his adolescence he began to actively participate in the cultural life of his hometown. Member of the Nueva Trova since 1983 and the well know “Grupo Muralla” with which he made his first international tour in 1985.⠀
After moving to Havana in 1989 he studied at the “Ignacio Cervantes” conservatory - his specialty, percussion.
He lived in Spain for more than 12 years playing, touring and recording and moved to the U.K in 2014. He has⠀
performed in groups such as: Kandela mi Son, Son de Cuba, “Son Yambú”, Los Amigos, Cuban Combination and others.
Since 2016 he has led his own band The Latin Bridge based in London.⠀
From Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, the self-taught Cristiano Rocha first picked up a trumpet when he was 14. In 2002 he traveled to Europe where he performed for 3 years as lead trumpeter in ‘Lidia Togni’.
In 2006 he moved to London and has performed with fellow Brazilian composers Caco Barros, and Aleh Ferreira, along with Angolan performer Carlos Burity, and London based, Brazilian maestro, Gui Tavares.
Cristiano plays a wide range of musical styles including Mariachi and is a member of UK bands - Mariachi Rey, Mariachi Ole, Mexican Way and Mariachi Amigo.
and he regularly performs with Cuban musician Sergio Marciano.
