Kenny Speirs is a sensitive guitarist, singer and arranger, and a well-known figure on the national and international folk circuit for three decades. Kenny was a key member of the John Wright Band, travelling from his beloved homeland of the Scottish Borders to some of the biggest festival stages throughout the U.K. and Europe. He then formed Real Time with the late and much missed Judy Dinning, More recent collaborators include vocalist Eilidh Grant, guitarist Brian Willoughby, and uilleann piper Catherine Ashcroft. With a total of 18 band and solo albums to his credit, Kenny is has moved from being a much respected interpreter of others' material to an accomplished writer of his own songs.
It's Kenny's self-penned songs that now form the basis of his live solo shows, though there is always room for a few songs from the Border region that has always inspired him.
