A terrific Thursday night show with Edinburgh Fringe previews from two of our favourite comedians.

MARC SALMON: We’ve Got to Do Something (WIP)

Marc Salmon wants to make the world better.
He is not entirely sure how.

A work-in-progress show about good intentions, fragile masculinity, and trying to respond to a world that feels politically and emotionally unstable.

Blending stand-up and improvisation, Marc talks to the audience about what problems we might actually be able to solve, and what to do if we are not sure what to do.

Drawing on his working-class background and a tendency to overthink everything, the show explores the gap between wanting systemic change and struggling to change yourself.

Come if you have ever thought, “we’ve got to do something about this,” and immediately realised you have no idea what that is.

“Funny as hell, while holding all the stuff that actually matters. Marc Salmon makes me feel great about the hope I have.”
Lara Ricote

“Naturally funny”
Mark Simmons

“Humanity and compassion... a very funny dude”
Mike OT (Co-founder The Free Association)

JOEY PAGE: I Think We are Ready for the End Now.

Now, do you think if they gave us a date for the end of the world, we would actually all be a bit happier?
I know some of you have kids and you know, well done and I am sure the end of the world would seem really terrifying in light of that, but kids are actually a lot more hardy and understanding than you think.

Aside from that, we are all waiting on the sweet release from the horrors of the price of everyday supermarket essentials rising faster than my Instagram following.

Think about it, if they said 'look, at the end of 2028 it’s all going to end. Spend your money, get fat, try and see a Komodo dragon or the Pyramids. Pack up work, actually have a few meaningful conversations with your parents.'

Yes, we would all miss sending pictures of shit look-a-likes of each other to our friends. But think of all the small talk we wouldn’t have to have.

No taking the bins out.

No more calories.
