Event Information

Join poets and singer-songwriters from Gibraltar to the Caspian sea as they gather to share traces of our shared humanity.
The night will be hosted by acclaimed Gibraltarian poet and singer Gabriel Moreno who will present poets and bards from far-off places. These performers all share a united front to place art and humanity over political and historical differences. In this night we consider Gibraltar itself as symbol of the the fusion of cultures and continents.
Featuring:

Acclaimed poet Great Bellamacina whose work has been heralded all over the UK and abroad for her contemporary take of Neo-Romantic lyric poetry. She will be presenting a series of poems translated into Spanish by José Vélez Otero.

Singer and composer Lara Eidi whose work bridges cultures and musical practices from Lebanon to Greece. She has put music to an ancient Greek text thought to be the first piece of annotated lyrics in the Western Hemisphere.

Mariam Saidan who is a special advocate for women's rights and whose poetry has been featured in many major UK literary publications championed for her unique style and her defence of liberty and beauty in times of violence.

Hydar Dewachi: inspired poet and acclaimed photographer who transcends culture, history and politics with insightful and fiery verse infused with the most defiant poetical voices of the 20th and 21st century.

Rafael Penas Cruz: editor, translator and publisher of Goat Star Books. His publishing house is a literary bridge between the Uk and many voices of the Iberian Peninsula. His inspired translations and careful curation have set him as one of the most interesting forces in the UK underground literature scene.

Dani Orcese: Gibraltar-born singer and writer. Known for fusing the cultural traces of England, America and Gibraltar. His songs and his poems are potent reminders of the traces of humanity found in artisitic creations around the world.
