Join the authors of FAEDOM for a fairy-making workshop, where we delve into the magic of creating fairy-tale characters and their stories.
Starting from the 24 fairies featured in the book, we inspire young readers to think about what makes a character complex, interesting, heroic, but also flawed and imperfect. We create our own fairies, from their appearance and special powers to their strengths, weaknesses, fears, friends and foes, and where they dwell.
We also take a look at how the natural world can inspire our characters and set the scene for their dynamic stories. Our roundtable discussion is followed by a drawing session, where each child can bring their fairy-tale ideas to life in art.
FAEDOM by Agnes Monod-Gayraud and Lorna White is a compendium of fairy lore, mythology and earth science from all over the globe. We present 24 different fairies across four elements, who represent the different realms of nature, superstition and folk beliefs.
From the Tree Fairy to the Dream Fairy, these charismatic characters delve into the magic of the natural world, while engaging young people in the age-old power of storytelling.
FAEDOM has been recommended by 'School Reading List', ‘LoveReading4Kids’ and ‘The
Federation for Children’s Book Groups’ as an essential guide to the world of fairies.
Workshop for ages 6-10 years. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
The cost of the tickets can be redeemed against the cost of the book Faedom on the day, with a book signing at the end of the event.
Please dress up as a fairy if you wish!
