Event information

FRICTION FARM, from North Carolina, is a husband and wife team of internationally traveling troubadours, Aidan Quinn and Christine Stay. This contemporary folk duo combine storytelling, social commentary and humour to create songs of everyday life, local heroes and quirky observations. From ballads to anthems each song is filled with harmony and hope. The two complement each other beautifully; both have strong voices that give their duo performance great presence, and their strength in song writing and effortless repartee make for a compelling performance for both new fans and old. Friction Farm feel at home on the road and on stage; audiences lean into their stories, laugh at their humour, sing along once in a while, and are inspired to do a little good in the world.

CHRIS FOX describes himself as a “contemporary folk singer-songwriter and loop station alchemist.” Audiences are enthralled by his rich vocals, complex guitar playing, and loop pedal wizardry, and find him both humorous and thought provoking in equal measure. His naturally laid back, unostentatious style creates the perfect ambience for an intimate and inclusive live experience drawing listeners in with tales of both the everyday and the unexpected. “Chris is a true artist in every sense of the word from his emotive song-writing to his effortless delivery. With dramatic light and shade in his guitar playing, rich depth to his vocals, he really is worthy of headline status in any club in the country” ~ Birch & Stock Folk Club.
