Event information
Palestine Music Space (Ramallah) and YWMP (Oxford) come together for a special collaborative evening of live music, celebrating the connection between these twin cities while raising funds to support both organisations.
Ahmed Eid is one of the most instigating Palestinian artists of his generation. His music tells stories of origin, resistance, hope, and freedom; tales he brings to life with his distinctive musical language.
In his solo debut EP “Aghani Akhira” (أغاني أخيرة, Last Songs), he opened a new chapter in 2024 and has already given a first glimpse of his first studio album “min ghazzeh labaghdad, min haifa la beirut”, which will be released in 2026.
He is joined on stage by a live band whose groovy, psychedelic, and organically danceable sounds promise eclectic sounds that echo across global stages and get under our skin and remain in our memories for a long time to come.
The 2026 tour will be collecting donations for the Palestine Music Space in Ramallah. This space creates a place where young talents can learn, record, experiment, and create a new sense of rockstardom together free of charge.
Palestine Music Space is a community-run grassroots space in downtown Ramallah. 150 young musicians, producers, and 9 bands are currently rehearsing, training, and recording music there—from Palestinian schoolgirl rock bands to experimental soul. The project supports musicians free of charge, with a label structure, distribution, and management training provided by KINDA.
The space runs on donations and support from across the world.
Supporting Ahmed Eid is Zahra Haji Fath Ali Tehrani, director of YWMP, an Iranian-Irish composer and multi-instrumentalist whose music explores the emotional terrains of intimacy, memory, and belonging through experimental sound. Based in Oxford and rooted in both Irish and Iranian heritage, Zahra creates genre-defying compositions that blend lo-fi jazz punk, shoegaze, and folk influences into raw, contemporary expressions of identity and queerness.
All proceeds from the evening will go towards supporting both Palestine Music Space and YWMP, sustaining their work in Ramallah and Oxford and strengthening this cultural exchange between twin cities.
