Event information
Did you know? Some cocoa producers have never tasted chocolate. Chocolate is a daily treat for some — a livelihood, a climate risk, and a source of constant uncertainty for others. We want to talk about it.
Join us for an evening that brings these different realities into conversation. We’ll start with a quick (and slightly competitive) quiz — with a chocolate prize — before hearing in person from 28-year-old Ghanaian cocoa producer and Fairtrade Ambassador Felix Tetteh.
From there, the discussion opens up: Prof Alex Nicholls (Saïd Business School, University of Oxford), Dr Mark Hirons (School of Geography and the Environment, University of Oxford), and Dr Tonya Lander (Christ Church, University of Oxford) step in to respond, question, and think together across disciplines. The conversation will move between lived experience and academic realities, exploring how cocoa is produced, valued, and transformed in a changing world.
Join us from 16:00, with welcome drinks followed by the discussion.
Come for the chocolate, stay for the conversation!
