Event information

Hosting Cafe No9's second young songwriter showcase, Sheffield native George Howard is an upcoming singer-songwriter with a penchant for crafting fresh, folk-inspired numbers.

Often touching on social issues, George aims to move audiences with emotive lyricism, finding inspiration from his own personal conflicts and relating these struggles to a wider audience.

Looking to release his debut album of original material in 2026, George hopes to de-mystify the art of songwriting and cultivate a unique musical approach to the well established singer-songwriter genre.

Robyn Gair is a folk-rock musician from Sheffield, praised for their “striking vocal range, fluent folkie guitar and imaginative emotive material”.

In 2025, they supported Heather Findlay on tour. Audiences can expect satire, humour and a quiet theatricality.
