It’s hard not to feel seen by Lemoncello, a band whose live performances and recordings shimmer with the tones of modern Ireland. Their upcoming release, Perfect Place, evolves from the band’s folk-soaked roots and confidently explores intricate new shapes. Marking a bold new chapter for singer-songwriter Laura Quirke and cellist-arranger Claire Kinsella, Perfect Place is imbued with assuredness, encompassing full band recordings that weave synths and electronic percussion into the band’s staple organic sound.

Through an intimate and devastatingly personal style of storytelling, the new album reflects upon the the modern tension between togetherness and alienation & the chaos of human nature with radical acceptance and compassion. Marked by her distinctively tender vocals, acerbically playful lyrics and harp-propelled textural arrangements, DIY musician Quincey May Brown is a singular force. Raised in Northamptonshire and now based in Manchester, her songwriting has been praised for its depth and subtle humour.

Following the release of her debut album, Basic Surgeon, the new album expands on Quincey May Brown’s intoxicating exploration of both organic and non-organic sounds in unexpected ways. Quincey leans away from folk conventions, instead creating a world of strings, drones and woodwind, dancing to the beat of its own off-kilter drum. Careful, Pockets is a collection of stories on loss, human nature and childhood scrapes.
