We’re pleased to welcome Origin Live to Audio T Southampton — a brand that, despite being based just down the road, has built a global reputation for some of the most accomplished analogue designs available today.

Founded in 1986 by Mark Baker, Origin Live has grown from a small, engineering-led operation into a globally respected name in vinyl replay, with a clear focus on extracting as much musical information as possible from the groove. Their turntables and tonearms are designed and built in-house, with a reputation for delivering a natural, unforced sound that prioritises timing, texture, and realism.

Now available to experience at Audio T Southampton, this event is a chance to hear exactly what makes them stand out.

At the centre of the session is the outstanding Origin Live Sovereign Turntable, equipped with a dual armboard to allow direct comparison between two of their most respected tonearms — the Illustrious and Enterprise Tonearms. Both arms will be fitted with identical Frog Cartridges from Van den Hul, giving a rare opportunity to properly hear how tonearm design shapes performance.

Across the sessions, we’ll be comparing the two arms in real time, alongside discussion around Origin Live’s history, design philosophy, and the research that underpins their products.

The rest of the system has been carefully chosen to stay out of the way and let the front end do the talking: the Aesthetix Mimas Integrated Amplifier feeding ATC SCM50 PSL passive speakers, with Chord Sarum T Speaker Cable and power conditioning from IsoTek throughout.

Sessions:
3:00pm – 4:30pm

5:30pm – 7:00pm

Each session is designed to be relaxed and interactive, with time to listen, compare, and ask questions.
