Join us for Friday Night Jazz at the Atrium Bar & Restaurant, President Hotel, Russell Square. On 15 May we are delighted to present the outstanding trumpeter Nick Smart, accompanied by Soner Ersen on piano, Dave Ohm on drums, and Andy Cleyndert on bass.

Nick Smart is one of the UK’s most respected jazz trumpeters, bandleaders, and educators. Known for his warm tone and imaginative playing, he brings together deep jazz roots with a contemporary and melodic style.

As Head of Jazz at the Royal Academy of Music, Nick has worked with many leading international artists, including Kenny Wheeler, Stan Sulzmann, John Hollenbeck, and Dave Holland. His acclaimed album *Remembering Nick Drake* highlights his distinctive approach to interpretation and arrangement.

Nick Smart remains an influential figure on the British jazz scene, celebrated for both his musicianship and his dedication to supporting new generations of jazz talent.

Together with an exceptional trio of musicians, he will present an evening of beautifully crafted standards, lyrical improvisation, and swinging grooves in an intimate and relaxed setting.

To enjoy the full experience of the evening, we recommend arriving from 7:30 PM to allow time to be seated, order your food, and settle in comfortably before the music begins at 8:00 PM.
