Thornton Hough Village Club presents Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq & The Fancy Chaps plus special guest Chris Tavener

Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq. has been delivering his own brand of singalong, musical humour since 2016, and the video for his sweary anthem ‘I’ve No More F***s To Give’ has been viewed over 20 million times on YouTube alone, sending his debut album ‘Awkward Encounters While Walking My Dog’ to number 3 in the Billboard Comedy Album Chart in 2019.

In 2024, after receiving a copyright strike on YouTube for playing a Brian Adams cover, he embarked on a mission to write an original song a week for as long as he could keep it up. This ongoing project has so far yielded numerous other viral classics, including ‘P*ssing The Right People Off,’ and ‘My Brain Won’t Shut The F**k Up’ which has been viewed over 15 million times across social media.

Thomas decided he needed a band of well groomed folk to accompany him on his travels around the country and to join in with the mirth and merriment, so the Fancy Chaps were formed in 2023. They have been touring across the country since then, bringing catchy tunes full of wit, wisdom and whimsy, with a combination of sharp, classic fashion and punk rock sensibilities.

Support comes from Chris Tavener; a theatrical musician with an acerbic wit, who writes his lyrics from the perspective of flawed characters that he draws from 21st century life.

His cynical social commentary, dressed in punchy guitar-driven rock and acoustic ballads has won him acclaim from BBC 6 Music and multiple BBC Introducing stations. He’s popular for his unique and theatrical live performance that has seen him sharing the stage with Super Hans, Tony Hadley and Peter Hook while also writing songs for the likes of Sir Ian McKellen.
