Event information
Join us for Friday Night Jazz at the Atrium Bar & Restaurant, President Hotel, Russell Square. On 15 May we are delighted to present the fantastic saxophonist James Allsopp, accompanied by Joel Prime on drums, Andy Cleyndert on bass, and Soner Ersen on piano.
James Allsopp is a highly skilled British saxophonist, composer, and educator, known for his mastery of tenor and baritone saxophones and bass clarinet. He has performed with a wide range of artists, including The Last Poets, Dr. John, Django Bates, Polar Bear, and Jamie Cullum.
His debut album was nominated for a BBC Jazz Award, and he won the BBC Jazz Award for Innovation in 2008. Outside of performance, James teaches at both the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and is also a qualified Alexander Technique teacher.
Together with an exceptional trio of musicians, he will present an evening of beautifully crafted standards, lyrical improvisation, and swinging grooves in an intimate and relaxed setting.
To enjoy the full experience of the evening, we recommend arriving from 7:30 PM to allow time to be seated, order your food, and settle in comfortably before the music begins at 8:00 PM. If you are planning to arrive after 8:00 PM, please email londonjazzstage@gmail.com in advance so we can note your arrival time and do our best to arrange a suitable table. Table seating is available for guests dining. Table reservations are subject to availability. Guests who are not dining are welcome to sit at tables if space is available; otherwise, they may be seated in the bar area.
