Event information
Join us for Friday Night Jazz at the Atrium Bar & Restaurant, President Hotel, Russell Square. On 22 May we are delighted to present the outstanding vibraphonist Nat Steele, accompanied by Gary Wilcox on drums, Dave Manington on bass, and Soner Ersen on piano.
Nat Steele is one of the UK’s leading jazz vibraphonists, admired for his melodic phrasing, rhythmic drive, and authentic approach to the bebop tradition. His debut album, Portrait of the Modern Jazz Quartet, released in 2017, was launched at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club and received praise from BBC Music Magazine and leading jazz critics.
Described by drummer Clark Tracey as “one of the best vibes players this country has ever produced,” Nat has performed at major jazz clubs and festivals throughout the UK and Europe. He is also the founder of BopFest, a London festival celebrating straight-ahead jazz and bebop.
Nat Steele continues to delight audiences with his warm tone, inventive solos, and deep connection to the jazz tradition.
Together with an exceptional trio of musicians, he will present an evening of beautifully crafted standards, lyrical improvisation, and swinging grooves in an intimate and relaxed setting.
To enjoy the full experience of the evening, we recommend arriving from 7:30 PM to allow time to be seated, order your food, and settle in comfortably before the music begins at 8:00 PM.
