Event information
Join us for Friday Night Jazz at the Atrium Bar & Restaurant, President Hotel, Russell Square. On 5 June we are delighted to present the outstanding trumpeter Byron Wallen, accompanied by Soner Ersen on piano, Andy Cleyndert on bass, and Eric Ford on drums.
Byron Wallen is one of the UK’s most distinctive jazz trumpeters and composers, known for his expansive sound, lyrical improvisation, and influences drawn from global musical traditions. His playing combines deep jazz roots with a broad, exploratory musical vision, making him a unique voice on the contemporary jazz scene.
He has performed internationally across major jazz venues and festivals, collaborating with a wide range of leading improvisers and ensembles. Alongside his performance career, Byron is also respected as an educator and creative mentor within the UK jazz community.
Together with an exceptional trio of musicians, he will present an evening of beautifully crafted standards, spacious improvisation, and dynamic, groove-led interplay in an intimate and relaxed setting.
To enjoy the full experience of the evening, we recommend arriving from 7:30 PM to allow time to be seated, order your food, and settle in comfortably before the music begins at 8:00 PM. If you are planning to arrive after 8:00 PM, please email londonjazzstage@gmail.com in advance so we can note your arrival time and do our best to arrange a suitable table.
