Rattle are a drum duo from Nottingham and we've been trying to find a date for them to come to Weirdshire for a while now. They play mesmeric, pulsing music which has been described by their record label (Upset the Rhythm) better than I can:
"... all the physicality and drama of another world pulling together around its own shifting centre of gravity. The drum beats phase and sidestep, they trade accents and overlap, providing a suitably alive terrain for the vocals to explore similar tendencies of pattern."

After the release of their debut album they opened for Animal Collective on their UK tour before heading out around Europe.

And opening the evening, another band we have been trying for a while to arrange a date with - Herefordshire's Hurricane Tapes. Another force to be reckoned with - post-punk meets grunge, with elements of psychedelia. For fans of Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Jesus and Mary Chain. Their debut ep was released in January of this year.
