Event information

Having rapidly developed a reputation as one of the most happening happenings on the London indie scene, Club Precious kicks off the autumn schedule kicks off with a doozy, as LANGUAGE OF FLOWERS return to the capital after more than a decade away. (They’ll be playing only three shows altogether – and the other two are in Paris and Hamburg.)
Can it really be more than two decades since the release of their acclaimed album ‘Songs About You’, featuring classic indie influences from the Smiths and the Go-Betweens to Heavenly and the Field Mice. Now it’s a bit more dreampop – lush, you might say. A new album is expected in 2027.
Language of Flowers will be joined by COUP DUR, the French-Belgian indie yéyé outfit whose debut eight-song EP (‘The English Want Coup Dur’) is released in May in the UK on Precious Recordings of London. Given the amount of airplay for the singles, it’s destined to become the surprise smash hit of the summer. This is their first proper London show.
The bill is completed by a rare London sighting of LOVEJOY in acoustic action. Having returned in 2024 after a period of quiet reflection, Dick Preece has released a couple of acclaimed albums on Spinout Nuggets. Don't miss him and his gentle, literate pop songs.
..and that's not all, because Ian Watson (of How Does It Feel To Be Loved? fame) will be spinning the discs. Just as he did 20 years ago when he hosted the Language of Flowers farewell show.
