DAUDI MATSIKO

Nottingham-based British-Ugandan singer-songwriter Daudi Matsiko creates modern folk music which is profound and beautiful, emotional and intense. His vocals – hushed, fragile – combine with deft, melancholic guitar picking reminiscent of Nick Drake. His confessional lyrics tell a story of heartache, depression, bipolar disorder, vulnerability, trauma, self-acceptance and hope. Minimal arrangements make space for songs which frequently have the power to floor you.

Daudi’s excellent 2024 album The King of Misery was championed by Gilles Peterson, Lauren Laverne, Jamz Supernova, Adam Buxton and many more. His live performances are warm, heartfelt, life-affirming, deeply moving, unforgettable. He has captivated audiences at festivals including The Great Escape and Manchester Folk Festival and across Europe as tour support for GoGo Penguin.

DONNA THOMPSON

London-based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Donna Thompson has released a series of sublime singles and EPs via PRAH Recordings in recent years. Tracks seamlessly weave together jazz, soul, R&B, spoken word and hypnotic, multi-layered grooves. A mesmerising singer, Donna’s voice has a gentle, delicate strength; her songs have intimacy, power and beauty.

A key member of the Total Refreshment Centre community – the East London DIY music venue and studio at the centre of the capital’s contemporary jazz and experimental music scenes – Donna has collaborated with artists including Alabaster dePlume, Falle Nioke and Beth Orton.

A spellbinding presence on the Nottingham live music scene, flöat released not one but two excellent albums in 2025. Melodic, introspective, off-kilter indie-folk – seemingly understated, but all the more powerful for it. This will be a solo show.
