Led by original member Maizie Williams, this 50th anniversary celebration brings one of disco’s most recognisable catalogues back to Boisdale.
The numbers are not small. Boney M sold over 100 million records during their imperial run, with "Rivers of Babylon/Brown Girl in the Ring" and "Mary’s Boy Child" both becoming UK million-selling No. 1 singles. Their album Nightflight to Venus also topped the UK Albums Chart, placing them among the defining pop-disco acts of the late 1970s.
Expect "Rivers of Babylon", "Daddy Cool", "Rasputin", "Ma Baker", "Sunny" and "Brown Girl in the Ring", songs that still do what they were built to do: fill the floor, start the singing and keep the room moving.
What made Boney M travel so far was the mix: Eurodisco production, Caribbean rhythm, pop hooks and a theatrical sense of fun that never took itself too seriously. At Boisdale, with Maizie Williams leading the celebration, it lands exactly where it should: close-up, lively and made for a crowd.
