Event information
Stephen Triffitt, Darren Charles and Nicola Emmanuelle bring the music of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr and Ella Fitzgerald to Boisdale of Canary Wharf for a live-band night of swing, jazz standards and classic showmanship.
Triffitt returns as Sinatra, a role he has made his own through years on stage, bringing the relaxed phrasing, sharp timing and after-hours ease behind songs such as "Fly Me to the Moon" and "That’s Life". Darren Charles takes on Sammy Davis Jr, with the quick-footed energy, wit and vocal attack that made Sammy one of the great all-round entertainers.
Nicola Emmanuelle brings Ella Fitzgerald into the frame with the swing feel, vocal control and flashes of scat improvisation that made Ella the singer other singers still study. Expect favourites including "Summertime" and "Mack the Knife", alongside Rat Pack classics and beautifully arranged standards.
With a live band driving the evening, this is proper Saturday-night entertainment: polished vocals, sharp suits, rhythm, humour and songs that still know how to work a room. Boisdale adds the dinner, cocktails, whisky and old-school glamour. The music does the rest.
