Keiron Phelan & Peace Signs
We are extremely chuffed that Gare Du Nord recording artists Keiron Phelan & Peace Signs will be celebrating their upcoming 5th album, 'Hullabaloo' (Gare du Nord Records), at the Cosmo 2 Club in August. Early '70s tinged baroque chamber pop, with black sheep philosophers, time travelling hairdressers, sixth form poetry, '70s pornography, Swiss Army knives, David Essex kisses, faked Moon landings, new best friends, long dead friends and more are to be found in the imaginative tunes of Mr Phelan. Joining Keiron vocals/guitar will be Jenny Brand clarinet/backing vocals, Jack Hayter on pedal steel, David Hackbrige Johnson on piano, David Coomber on bass and Ian Button drums/backing vocals. With shades of Kevin Ayers and Lou Reed, a push of Go Kart Mozart, a whisper of Marc, a squeeze of Super Furry Animals, with a soupcon of Neil Hannon leading the protest march. Don’t miss this fine songwriter and his wonderful ensemble of fabulous musicians doing what they do.

Drew Morrison and the Darkwood
House band Drew Morrison and the Darkwood’s central vision of a music illuminated by the guiding star genres of Country, Pop & Rock ‘N' Roll all tinged with wide open spaced Bob Nolanesque 'golden chording' has remained focussed and realised itself into a unique sound. Expect to hear flashes of late 1960s Velvets, Jimmy Webb-esque wordplay and electrical guitar playing that has one foot in the 1950s and the other very much in the now. The Darkwood features Drew Morrison singing/guitar, George London bass/singing, Ian Gant on guitar and Nick Steyn on drums.
