Jazz/ world music pianist and composer Dan Costa is bringing his award-winning music to the UK with a new series of live performances. His output has been considered “entrancing” (Downbeat Magazine), “rare and luxurious” (All About Jazz) and “profound” (Jazziz), blending virtuosity, accessibility, and cultural storytelling which reflect a deep engagement with Modern Latin Jazz. He has recorded with artists such as Randy Brecker, Ron Carter, John Patitucci, Mike Stern, Bob Mintzer, Hermeto Pascoal, Dave Liebman, Ivan Lins, Seamus Blake, Dave Douglas, Romero Lubambo, Leila Pinheiro, Marcos Suzano, Jaques Morelenbaum and Roberto Menescal. He has released three studio albums – Suite Três Rios (2016), Skyness (2018) and Beams (2023) –, a live solo album – Live in California (2020) –, and two singles – Love Dance (2020) with Ivan Lins and Iremia (2022) with Ron Carter. In 2025, he recorded new output with Ron Carter and Bob Mintzer. Costa has been featured by DownBeat, All About Jazz, Jazziz, BBC, Jazz FM, Sky News, 7NEWS Australia, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Berliner Zeitung, Otago Daily Times, Radio Romania, La Repubblica, Rádio e Televisão de Portugal, Globo, Bangkok Post, Al Arab, India Today and Rolling Stone Magazine, amongst others. His music has been included in instructional material and has been used in support of animal welfare by FOUR PAWS, which considered his music “a voice for the voiceless.”
For his upcoming UK dates, Costa will be joined by two British musicians:
Jon Reynolds is a jazz drummer who thrives on the conversation of music, combining feel, connection and spontaneity, having worked with critically-acclaimed harpist Amanda Whiting and performed in UK venues such as Ronnie Scott’s and The Jazz Café as well as various European festivals. He has also recorded and toured extensively with violinist David Grubb, showing his versatility across genres.
On bass, Pete Komor, a dynamic and versatile double bassist known for his strong groove, lyrical playing, and work across the UK jazz scene with his group ‘Howl Quartet’ as well as extensive side-man appearances with artists such as Javier Zalba (Buena Vista Social club). “A bass player with huge tone and a strong sense of melody” - The Jazz Mann.
