Are you worried about the state of the world but not sure what to do about it?

Do you think that people trying to change the world sometimes get in their own way?

Anthea Lawson’s new book How Not To Save The World: Doing Good Without Annoying Everyone offers antidotes to the classic pitfalls of progressive activism. She has interviewed more than a hundred other change-makers, and reflected on decades of her own campaigning for human rights and environmental groups. George Monbiot has called it ‘a wise, rich and crucial book’.

Lawson will be in conversation with Anthea Simmons, editor-in-chief of West Country Voices and co-founder of the South Devon Primary and Common Ground.

This is an evening for.

- anyone who’s wondered why they find activists annoying
- people who don’t consider themselves ‘activists', who are wondering what on earth to do in a time of crisis
- campaigning veterans who may appreciate recognition of the challenges they face, and positive ways forward
