Kristoffer Andrew Ross is a folk singer and guitarist from rural Upstate New York. Specializing in traditional ballads from the Northeastern United States, and their connections to origins in the British Isles
.With careful vocal and fingerstyle guitar arrangements, he seeks to entwine
skillful musicianship with an awareness of historic songs’ relationship to stories of immigration, labor, and class struggles of the past and present.
In addition to solo work, Kristoffer lead and arranged for the Men o’ War Balladeers, a Celtic and Maritime Ballad band. He has produced two albums for the group, including their 2019 release, “Low Lie the Fields.”
He is also a farmer in Cambridge, NY

M. Haiux is the instrumental guitar project of Liverpool based musician Matthew McPartlan. Drawing on fingerstyle guitar, improvisation and minimalist composition, his music sits between contemporary folk, experimental acoustic music and American Primitive guitar traditions.
His debut album, Summer Nights and Still Water, was released on Hollow Gesture Records in 2024, followed by the EP The Cold Nights of Late December and the improvised album A Quiet Collapse in 2026. Across these releases, M. Haiux has developed a distinctive approach that combines structured composition with spontaneity and a DIY recording ethos.
His music has received support from BBC 6 Music, including airplay on Riley & Coe, New Music Fix and the Breakfast Show. He also recorded an intimate live session for Deb Grant, broadcast on Christmas Eve 2024.
In 2025, M. Haiux was featured in Bandcamp Daily's Reveries & Ritual: A British Solo Acoustic Guitar Primer, an article highlighting a new wave of UK solo acoustic guitarists who are redefining contemporary instrumental and experimental guitar music.
M. Haiux has shared stages with a range of respected artists from the contemporary folk and experimental music worlds, including Gwennifer Raymond, Merope, Luce Mawdsley and Nev Clay.
Before his solo work, McPartlan was a member of John Peel favourites Cranebuilders, recording BBC Radio 1 sessions and touring in the UK, Europe and the United States. He is also the founder of Hollow Gesture Records, an independent label dedicated to instrumental guitar music.
