The Tradinettes formed through a shared love of folk traditions. After meeting at a variety of UK summer folk festivals as members of different bands, the group decided to unite their clarinet forces rather than settle for fleeting festival encounters. The result is The Tradinettes, a collective dedicated to celebrating the instrument’s amazing depth and variety.

Their interests span a wide range of styles; from Québécois and Irish to Klezmer and Welsh. They push the boundaries of the clarinet and challenge preconceptions of the instrument, folk traditions and the classical clarinet quartet by playing and learning entirely by ear.

The line-up includes Katie Stevens (Bonfire Radicals, The Destroyers, Filkin’s Ensemble), Dominic O’Sullivan (Juniper, Filkin’s Ensemble), Kat Browning (Band-y-Braichmelyn, The Folk Bass Clarinet project), and Helen Gentile (Threepenny Bit, Monkey See Monkey Do, Helen Gentile & Lewis Wood).
