This event is the book launch for an international project in which 60 people from different walks of life have been invited to photograph and write briefly about a place that has particular significance for them – their ‘Somewhere’ – from an ordinary bus stop in Sheffield to a home in the West Bank. Mark Doel will present the ideas behind the project, consider ideas of place and placelessness, and introduce some of examples from the book.
