Enjoy an inspiring evening of poetry readings and discussion at Daydreams Bookshop, Milngavie with award-winning Glasgow poets Vicki Husband (Glasgoscopy) and Sharon Black (Things that Fruit in Darkness).

Tickets include light refreshments. Signed poetry collections by the poets will be available to purchase at the event.

VICKI HUSBAND’s first poetry collection This Far Back Everything Shimmers was shortlisted for the Saltire Society Scottish poetry book of the year award 2016. Vicki’s poems have also been published in literary magazines and newspapers and awarded prizes, as well as being heard on the radio and read live at Glasgow Women’s Library, the Southbank Centre London, and The Lahore Literary Festival among other places. Vicki has collaborated on translations with poets from Pakistan and Ukraine and worked with artists on visual-poetry exhibitions. Vicki has run poetry workshops with StAnza International Poetry Festival, The Scottish Epilepsy Centre, and Glasgow Zine Library. Vicki’s latest book, Glasgoscopy, was published in October 2025 and is informed by her work for the NHS in Glasgow over the past twenty years.

SHARON BLACK is originally from Glasgow, Scotland, and now lives in a remote valley of the Cévennes in France where she runs a writing retreat. Sharon is also the editor of Pindrop Press and has taught for The Arvon Foundation. After studying French language, philosophy and literature at Aberdeen University, Sharon worked for 10 years as a journalist in Glasgow. Sharon has published four collections of poetry, won numerous awards including Poetry Society, Mslexia and Wigtown poetry prizes, and has been included in the The Scottish Poetry Library’s selection of best poems of 2023. Sharon’s fifth collection of poetry Things that Fruit in Darkness was published by Vagabond Voices in June 2026.
