Sonics is super excited to host its first live show in ace record store Tough Love St Leonards with a rare duo performance from two highly regarded artists.

Back once again, and this time as one half of a rhythmically explosive duo, Container, the St Leonards on Sea based electronic project of Ren Schofield, is joined by Australian percussionist, Will Guthrie.

Schofield's work stretches into the wildest corners of noise-rock, tape music, techno and high tempo distorted electronics and has taken his live show all over world this year with shows in the US and South Korea most recently. His recent solo set for Sonics in Hastings down in the Brewing Brothers Courtyard basement in June was a crushing, mind melter.

Will Guthrie uses various combinations of drums, percussion, amplification and electronics within his deep explorations of the world of rhythm. His live and recorded output spans solo work, improvised music, multiple collaborations (with Mark Fell, Oren Ambarchi to name a few) and his work with contemporary hybrid percussion/gamelan group Ensemble Nist-Nah.

Support comes from Bexhill on Sea's greatest living musicians, The Brothers Bula, internationally renowned for their multi-faceted musical style and avant-garde anti-aesthetic. They can be found performing in various locations all over the UK, either in duo form or in various collaborations (Sexton Ming, Jason Williams, The Defamation Project) and are also members of all-star avant-garde big band Statue of Liberty Big Band.
