Ferg Ireland is one of London’s most versatile and in demand Bassists. He has performed across the world and recorded with some of the biggest Pop artists in the world including Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Jamie Cullum, Gregory Porter and Paloma Faith, and Jazz artists from the US and UK including: Jason Marsalis, Johnny O Neal, Leroy Jones, Nicole Glover, Ant Law, Roxy Coss, Jason Brown, Soweto Kinch, Empirical, Will Vinson, Alex Hitchcock, Kit Downes, Gwylim Simcock, Reuben James, Etienne Charles, Guy Barker, Jason Rebello, Ashley Henry, Kansas Smittys and the Ronnie Scotts Allstars amongst many others.
His trio featuring MOBO award winning saxophonist Nathaniel Facey and ECM featured drummer James Maddren have been playing together for almost a decade and this is reflected in the telepathy of their musical conversation. The twists and turns of their dialogue delve deep into the dark heart of modern Jazz, with an alchemical blend of intense spiritual jazz, broken beat flavours, angular swing and playful conversations. They have built a cult following performing at festivals and venues in and around London, in both established mainstays such as Ronnie Scotts and the Jazz Cafe and grassroots venues, record shops and warehouse district art spaces. For this special London Jazz Festival show they will be presenting music from their new album “Alive In London” released on Whirlwind Records on the 30 October.
