Michael J Sheehy
The great Michael J Sheehy will be joining us in September. London born and bred Michael J Sheehy has followed his own unique path and created a musical catalogue that is quite breathtaking in it’s scope. Not content with being a solo artist Michael also fronts the very wonderful blues driven band The Miraculous Mule. In recent years Mr Sheehy has been incredibly productive releasing “Distance Is The Soul Of Beauty” (2020) and in 2021 he released a collection of folk, murder ballads, traveller tunes and sea songs entitled “The Crooked Party Sings” both LP’s were well received. Recently, he has released yet another collection of songs on his brand new LP ‘Don’t We Deserve Some Kind Of Love’ (Dimple Records) to rave reviews.

Siobhán Parr
From Peckham to Memphis and now returning to play for us here in Soho at the September CSS will be South London’s golden-voiced Siobhán Parr. Playing her own soulful originals with perhaps a few heartfelt covers by the likes of Lucinda Williams, John Prine or Bonnie Raitt this is a talented artist that is simply not to be missed. Siobhán for this performance, will be accompanied by the fantastic Mr Rick Batey on lead guitar.

Aisha Khan
Country Soul favourite Aisha Khan will also be joining us at the September CSS. Aisha will be performing some of her self-penned songs in solo mode (accompanied by her humble ukulele). With influences ranging from Jazz, Blues, Swing, Rhythm & Blues, Doo Wop and Rock 'N' Roll it's fair to say that Ms Khan can sing pretty much anything she has a mind to. Aisha is in equal parts sultry Jazz chanteuse and Rhythm and Blues ‘belter’ although recently she has expanded her repertoire by writing in a more ‘vintage’ country vein with her exciting new band Grace Under Fire.

Louis King aka Tommy McEwan

The CSS is delighted that we have Australian Louis King playing for us at our ’Songwriters Special’. Extremely well known amongst the roots fraternity in Australia, Mr King has not only released countless solo records but his band has been the featured support act for International stars such as B.B King, Buddy Guy, Jimmie Vaughan and Screamin’ J Hawkins. On a personal level Mr King has also found the time to play a supporting musician role to the likes of Deke Dickerson, The Starliners,The Detonators and has even played drums for The UK’s Extarordinaires on one occasion. For this Session Tommy McEwan will be playing his own original tunes that cover genres such as Blues, Rock’N’Roll and Rockabilly.

Frank Sweeney & Annie Holder
Ace songwriters Frank & Annie from the very marvellous The Magic City Trio will also be serenading us at the September CSS. This husband and Wife pairing have released two brilliant long players “Americana Arkana” & ’The Magic City Trio’ on their Kailua label which were greeted with fine reviews and extreme listener satisfaction. Expect to hear visions of Sinatra & Hazelwood and traditional country tales played by their cosmic cowboy and cowgirl alter egos.
