We are delighted to welcome Saxauphonics back to Bishops' House! They gave an enchanting performance last year which was so good we have asked them back to do it again, which they are doing with a few tweaks to the content. The group modestly described their production as "music from across the centuries, interspersed with information on the history of the house and local area for each period." We were presented with a rousing variety of pieces, in different styles, and the information they provided about the history of Bishops' House was meticulously researched and entertainingly presented. Thoroughly recommended!

Formed in January 2023, Saxauphonics is a venture of old friends who have played together in various groups and combinations since the noughties. Their repertoire ranges from baroque classics by Bach and Haydn to modern pop songs, TV theme tunes and Christmas carols. Their members play in various ensembles across Sheffield (often on other instruments) and they're all quite partial to cake.
