Event information

Join artist Donna Cheshire in a workshop inspired by her recent travels and observations
“I’ve been travelling around a lot recently, and everywhere I’ve been I have come across rows of colourful shops and houses. This gave me the idea to create a textile memento of these lovely places and so the idea for this workshop developed.”

You will be making a free standing street scene using fabric and stitch on pelmet vilene. Your street scene will feature your choice of a minimum of 3 buildings, these could be houses, shops, beach huts, lighthouses! Even a castle if we have time!! Be sure to bring visual references of your colourful places. (Drawings, photos, magazine images etc)

Donna will bring sewing equipment and materials to the workshop but if you have a favourite piece of fabric or even some paper ephemera from your location (tickets, wrapping or paper bags, logos, holiday journalling or sketches for example -remember that these will be torn or cut up to add so make copies if you need to!), bring it along to add to your street scene!.
