The ever-increasing costs of creating and installing Stony’s magnificent Christmas Lights display means ever-increasing needs for fundraising. YOU, TOO, can help by buying tickets for “Before the Lights” and enjoying an evening of music from some of the finest performers on the scene.
An evening of live music from the four host bands of the Old George Open Mic, held every Sunday.
This is your chance to see the musicians themselves let their hair down, join forces, and enjoy playing for the sheer fun of it. Expect a few surprises, special guest singers, and plenty of memorable moments along the way.
Your hosts Pete Venes, Ant Boylan, Andy Powell, and Hélène Walker will each bring their own band to the stage, creating a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere throughout the evening. Get switched on with:

The event is called Before the Lights because it takes place before the Stony Lights switch-on, and as a tribute to our friend Ian Anderson, who was a member of After the Lights and a much-loved former host of the Old George Open Mic.

From 7.30pm there will be a York House bar offering real ale, cider, lager, wine and soft drinks, and proceeds will go to York House’s “Building for our Future” project.
