Event information

An evening featuring two great bands playing original music that's hard to categorize! Both play gorgeous, thoughtful, interesting, melodic, soulful music featuring original songwriting involving in-demand musicians who are really active on the national scene and beyond, playing with all sorts of artists. This promises to be a really great night for anyone who appreciates great live music!

Linus Fenton

This is a rare opportunity to see ex-Ashburton resident Linus Fenton perform his own music. More commonly found playing bass for various artists, such as Tummyache and Declan McKenna, Fenton takes centre stage to perform music from his recently-released album Books, Pictures.

Linus's band is:
- Linus Fenton (Tummyache, Declan McKenna) - vocals, guitar, bass
- Soren Bryce (Tummyache, Re.clusé) - vocals, bass, ambience
- Rupert Cox (Benjamin Clementine, Dan Croll) - piano
- Yuri Shibuichi (Honeyglaze, Jacob Alon) - drums

The music features a mixture of songs and instrumentals, encompassing indie folk and experimental rock. Although having trained as a jazz musician at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, Linus grew up obsessively consuming bands like Radiohead and Red Hot Chill Peppers.”
