Join us in The Fae Folkrooms for an evening of music, poetry and connection, with performances from local artists and invited special guests. The Fae Folkrooms celebrates the underground, the otherworldly, the alternative, the queer and the extraordinary.

This month’s special guest is accordionist and composer Natalie Brookes. Her playing ranges from delicate, captivating melodies to rich and intoxicating acoustic sounds baths. She sits at the three-way intersection of folk dance music, modern instrumental composition and trans identity.

Natalie has collaborated with George Sansome and Sophie Crawford of Queer Folk, playing for many of their Queer Ceilidh Dances Parties. She was a co-founder of QOFF: the Queer Online Folk Festival.

Cormorant, her debut album, was highly praised. 'Subtle, mesmerising and gently blossoming as the album progresses' - Karen Tweed. 'A journey that, like the diving cormorant, emerges in unexpected directions' - Folk Radio.

Natalie's ongoing project, Correspondence, is a six track EP celebrating queer identities and commonalities. Each track is a compositional collaboration between Natalie and another LGBTQIA+ folk musician, with a tune written by each player to create six duets.

Doors open 7pm, performances start 7.30pm.
