A Q&A FOR EMERGING FILMMAKERS WITH MIKE NEWELL & CLEONE CLARKE

Join legendary director Mike Newell and top producer Cleone Clarke for an exclusive Q&A, where they will share real industry knowledge, survival tips, and behind-the-scenes stories to help you develop your filmmaking journey!

Mike began directing television at age 22, transitioning to cinema with 'The Man in the Iron Mask' in 1977. He soon gained critical acclaim with award-winning films including 'Dance with a Stranger', 'The Good Father', and 'Enchanted April'. His major international breakthrough came with the smash-hot comedy 'Four Weddings and a Funeral', which won four BAFTAs, including Best Film and Best Director, and earned two Academy Award nominations. In Hollywood Mike directed high-profile features including the Mafia thriller 'Donnie Brasco', 'Pushing Tin', and 'Mona Lisa Smile'. He also served as Executive Producer on 'Traffic' and 'High Fidelity'. Notably, Mike became the first British director to helm an instalment of the hit 'Harry Potter' franchise with 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire'. His other film credits include 'Prince of Persia', 'Great Expectations' and most recently 'My Duchess'.

Cleone is a freelance producer who has worked in film production and development for our thirty years. Credits include: 'The Father (winner of two Academy Awards and two BAFTA Awards), 'Red Joan', 'Loving Vincent', 'My Week With Marilyn', 'A Bunch of Amateurs', 'Chasing Liberty', 'I Capture The Castle', 'Shakespeare In Love' (winner of seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture & three BAFTA Awards including Best Film), 'The Wings Of The Dove' (winner of two BAFTA Awards), 'Twelfth Night' and 'The Madness Of King George' (winner of one Academy Award and two BAFTA Awards, including Best British Film).
