Event information

Another fantastic bill from those kind folks at Club Precious, who have rapidly established a reputation for curating a series of unmissable nights on the London indie scene.
Jetstream Pony return for their second visit to Club Precious, this time moving to the early-evening Lexington following a sold-out show at the Waiting Room and a brilliant support slot with Prolapse at the 100 Club.
A potent mix schrammelig post-punk and indiepop, Jetstream Pony are leading lights of the UK indie scene featuring an array of well-known faces, including Beth Arzy (The Luxembourg Signal/Trembling Blue Stars) and Shaun Charman (The Wedding Present/The Popguns). Recent releases include the highly acclaimed second album Bowerbirds and Blue Things (on Spinout Nuggets) and a sessions EP on Precious Recordings of London. (And no, we still don’t know what ‘schrammelig’ means either; they told us to say it.)
The Leaf Library are a north London band playing melodic dream-like music built on layers of chiming guitars, pulsing electronics, noise and looping drones. Their most recent studio album, After The Rain, Strange Seeds was released in March this year to acclaim from Mojo (4*s), Uncut (9/10) and The Quietus (“Brilliantly atmospheric… a quiet, melancholy wonder”). That was their fourth studio album – but don’t forget Library Music, their compilation series on the magnificent Wiaiwya Records. Volume Two is set for imminent release.
Led by Davey Woodward of Brilliant Corners fame, Karen are Bristol indie royalty. They play post-punk rock’n’roll indie-pop music via what they describe as “fresh earworms for malcontents bored of today’s beat scene”. So now you know.
So that’s three amazing bands for the price of three. Be there or be somewhere else.
(PS – the downstairs bar will be open late as usual, but we expect the show to finish about 8,30pm)
