Event information

Queer as Punk presents Edinburgh's hottest gig, to get you through the coldest month!!!

Problem Patterns
Heading into the latter half of a decade together, Problem Patterns are well-seasoned and only getting weirder. Refusing the notion of softening with age, the band are constantly pushing themselves through their musical output, whilst keeping their roots political and feminist. Constantly swapping who fronts the band and which instrument they play, they like to keep you guessing what's going to happen at their seriously fun live shows.

Winners of the Northern Ireland Music Prize in 2024, 2025 has seen the band head to international stages with NXNE in Toronto, Canada and a recent tour of The Netherlands. They supported The Mary Wallopers at the SSE Arena in Belfast at their biggest hometown support show. The band has upcoming tour plans in 2026, to present their new EP ‘Boring Songs For Boring People’ to the world.

Their latest release highlights the band’s collective musical growth while not shying away from the outspoken, chaotic spirit they’ve become renowned for.

“A thoroughly great racket” - Steve Lamacq, BBC RADIO 6 MUSIC

“They make weird music for right now that sounds like no one else and I am addicted” - Kathleen Hanna

“I just think they’re great” - Henry Rollins

“Fuckin’ fantastic!” - Gordon Ramsey

Pink Pound
Pink Pound is the demi-drag stage persona of Andrew Milk (Current Affairs, Shopping) summoned for solo performance work and as an electronic music project. Milk creates a kaleidoscopic landscape of fist pumping Hi-NRG gay disco and introspective bedroom pop that explores identity, power dynamics and joyful connection found within queer spaces both physical and intangible. The music was best described by a fan recently as “The Yassification of New Order”💅.
In August 2022 the debut album ‘Cottage Industry’ came out via American record label Cruisin’ Records- Milk’s first full length release as a solo artist.
