In 1926, a wealthy young man, Terence Gray, founded a remarkable experimental theatre – The Cambridge Festival Theatre – dedicated to creating dynamic, imagistic, choreographic theatre, using new technologies of advanced lighting and a revolving stage to create theatre spectacles never seen before in Britain. But it lasted less than 10 years and the theatre was abandoned.
2026. One hundred years later, it is in the safe hands of the Cambridge Buddhist Society, who have invited a contemporary experimental theatre group – in situ: - to create a celebratory centenary performance.
