Join us in The Fae Folkrooms for an evening of music, poetry and connection, with performances from local artists and invited special guests. The Fae Folkrooms celebrates the underground, the otherworldly, the alternative, the queer and the extraordinary.
This month’s special guest is singer-songwriter Anna Anise. Anna is a radiant voice in modern folk, blending melodic hooks, rich vocals, and full-bodied guitar tunings with the heritage of the Cornish language to create something truly captivating. Rooted in her Cornish identity, her latest work brings a rhythmic, lament-tinged optimism to the evolving sound of Kernewek in song.
As a performer, Anna has played all over the UK, from venues such as Green Note in London and Cobalt Studios in Newcastle to festivals like Green Man and Between the Trees. In 2024, she co-headlined a spring tour with violinist and songwriter boci, and completed an 18-date support tour with the folk trio Hands of the Heron.
After a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2025, Anna and her supporters raised the funds to record her debut bilingual album, Aneth (meaning ‘marvel’ or ‘wonder’ in Cornish) set for release late 2026.
