Writing from Despair to Hope
"Against the ruin of the world, there is only one defense - the creative act"

The workshop runs from 11am -3pm with a break for lunch.

In this workshop we will write and read words of consolation and comfort, and explore ways of offering ourselves and others permission to hope. The workshop will be facilitated by Pippa Marriott and you will be in an environment that is supportive and give you space to create new writing.

When we are surrounded with the destructive harshness of war and global politics, national tensions and climate disaster, alongside multiple shiny distractions and offers to consume ourselves into feeling happier, poetry has never been more important. This workshop is a chance to take some time to remind ourselves of the beauty and kindness and quiet connection that doesn't make the headlines, but does make life worth living.

NB You don't need to be a poet to attend, or to write poetry in the session - prose is welcome too - sometimes it's hard to tell the difference!
