Event information

Jaz Delorean, travelling songwriter, pianist and voice of Tankus, loves to unravel the big stage performance and revisit how songs were originally sketched out, in the solitude of the riverboat he lives on, around a campfire or on a found piano in the recesses of a theatre somewhere on the road.

His sound incapsulates a life of movement and obsession with mid-century music & literature, stride piano and balladic storytelling.

For years, Delorean has gathered eccentric and captivating musicians and set out on the road to bring the original Tankus sound to countries across the world, playing in cities from New Orleans, to Tirana, and most places in between. A regular fixture at Glastonbury Festival, they have also appeared at Montreux Jazz Festival, Boomtown Fair, Stuttgart and Modena Jazz Open, and WOMAD, to name just a few.

Jaz Delorean occasionally releases solo albums and EPs in-between the Tankus catalogue.

Logan Metz (Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Willie Nelson) is a songwriter, educator and raconteur based in Wisconsin. His songwriting spans many genres, from jazz and rock to folk and country, but it's all marked by artful chord changes, a character-centric narrative style, and a wry lyrical wit rooted firmly in the Tom Waits/ Randy Newman/ Leon Russell school of piano-based storytelling.

During his seven-year stint as a multi-instrumentalist for Promise of the Real, Metz had the honor of playing with Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Joe Walsh, Jimmy Buffett, Eddie Vedder, Warren Haynes, Robby Krieger, John Densmore, Bob Weir, and in 2023 began playing piano on tour with Willie Nelson himself.

Now, ten years after releasing his solo debut, "The Last Remaining Payphone in L.A." (2016), Metz is hitting the road again, in advance of releasing his long-overdue second album, the first singles of which Sunrise and Overratedare now streaming everywhere.

After a magical time opening for Tankus across the UK earlier this year, Metz is stoked beyond measure at the prospect of returning for this groovy dual-piano tour with frontman Jaz Delorean.

On this tour they'll be onstage together, with two pianos (their own), guitar, accordion, and a vague but groovy plan.
