Leeds-based Mu Quintet explore the outer edges of contemporary jazz, blending intricate composition with explosive improvisation and adventurous, highly expressive playing. Drawing inspiration from the avant-garde, their music moves between rich, carefully constructed melodies and moments of complete freedom — pushing the possibilities of the small jazz ensemble.
For anyone drawn to spiritual, experimental and boundary-pushing jazz, Mu Quintet are a band well worth hearing live.
