The cyclical riffs and punk funk sensibilities cry ‘post punk’ (Gang of Four, The Fall, Bogshed) but the pop heft of the tunes is something else, plus a frontman who is adamant he’s not called Burt puts in a proper, PROPER swiftly up there. Great, cutting vocals too. Ace. Not unlike the mighty Cud too.
