A 1.5 hour evening of three talks followed by an open Q&A and refreshments, offering a unique opportunity to get the full picture on installing renewables, from installation experts ...
THE TALKS ...
1) DR. JASON TISDALL, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tanjent Energy, will be taking a broad look at some of the variety of what is possible with solar and battery storage.
2) ADAM MORSE has come from a practical electrical background and spent over 15 years in energy efficiency as a Retrofit Coordinator and Heat Geek Design Master. He will be explaining that it starts with the house, not the technology:
* the fabric, existing heating, heat loss, roof, electricity consumption, hot water demand and how the occupants actually live all matter.
What homeowners really need to know about heat pumps:
* Will it keep my house warm?
* Do I need underfloor heating?
* Do all my radiators need replacing?
* What happens in very cold weather?
* Are they expensive to run?
* Good design matters more than simply choosing a particular heat-pump brand.
ABOUT ...
DR. JASON TISDALL and TANJENT ...
Friends say that Jason is a poacher-turned-gamekeeper in the climate change world. After completing a Ph.D in underwater robotics from UCL, Jason became a software entrepreneur in the offshore oil and gas industry in the 90s and 00s. However, it became ever clearer that fossil fuels were having a huge negative impact on our planet. As a result, Jason made the jump to providing Solar and Battery solutions in the 10s.
Tanjent's commitment has been to make solar simple and, building on their backgrounds in engineering and computing, have the technical knowledge to make sure their solutions are right for their clients.
ADAM MORSE and SUSTAIN ...
Adam Morse is a renewable energy and retrofit specialist with over 15 years’ experience in the energy efficiency sector. A Retrofit Coordinator and Heat Geek Design Master, he has extensive knowledge of heat pumps, solar and battery storage, building fabric and ventilation, supported by a practical background as a qualified electrician. Alongside his professional work, Adam has personally renovated and upgraded his own complex period property, giving him first-hand experience of the challenges involved in improving older homes. He combines this hands-on understanding with technical, commercial and operational expertise to develop practical whole-house solutions that reduce energy use, running costs and reliance on fossil fuels.
Sustain is committed to "making tomorrow a better place by creating smarter, more efficient and sustainable homes that cost less to run".
